This lesson explores vamps in the C Wahine tuning between C and G7 chords. We will learn the same vamps for the Drop C tuning as well. The phrases we learn can be adapted to any other tuning. The only difference between C Wahine and Drop C is that the high string is tuned from E down to D in Drop C tuning. We adjust the notes on this string and often move the note D to the 3rd fret of the 2nd string in C Wahine. Although the tunings are very similar, Drop C has the same fingerings as Taro Patch tuning on the top 5 strings and C Wahine tuning has the same fingers as standard tuning on the top 4 strings. Knowing these connections can really help as you explore the various tunings.
Tuning: CGDGBE
